Application - Nail Glue
Here's a few tips before you get started:
- Nail prep is key to having your nails look as seemless as they can and that they adhere as long as possible.
- Go through all the instructions prior to starting application to get a better understanding of what needs to be done.
- I would highly recommend applying the nails RIGHT before you sleep - this will be the best chance to avoid contact with water to help solidify the adhesion.
- Nail glue has an approximate wear duration of 1.5-3 weeks, so it is more suited for long term wear.
Tool Kit
Each set of nails comes with a tool kit that contains everything you need to apply your nails. The tool kit includes:
- x1 standard-size sheet of sticky tabs
- x1 large-size sheet of sticky tabs
- x2 alcohol pads
- cuticle oil
- nail glue
- wooden cuticle stick
- nail file
- nail buffer block
- wooden stick with sanding tip
File down all of your natural nails with the nail file.
Push back all of your cuticles with the rounded side of the wooden cuticle stick.
Buff the entirety of your nail beds (especially close to the cuticle line) with the coarse side of the buffer to remove oils, shine and to create a rough(ish) surface for optimum adhesion.
Wipe the entirety of your nail beds with the alcohol pad to remove dust and dehydrate the nail bed. Don’t touch your nail beds from here on out as this will cause oils to go back onto the nail bed and affect adhesion!
Cut the tip of the glue, ensuring the nozzle is facing away from yourself (you could also do this first before starting your nail prep).
Work with one finger at a time to avoid having the nail glue dry out. Dab just enough glue to cover 3/4 of your nail bed (from the tip of your nail inwards), avoiding the cuticle and surrounding skin.
Dab a tiny bit of glue and spread it on the cuticle end of the false nail (approximately 1/4 of the way up so that it will aline with the glue on your nail plate).
Position the nail as close to your cuticle as possible and start at a 45 degree angle.
Slowly push the nail down as this will encourage the glue to flow forward toward the tip of your nail bed as opposed to the surrounding skin.
Hold down the nail firmly for 30 to 60 seconds to allow the glue to dry and adhere to the nail plate.
One nail down! Repeat this for the rest of your nails, and remember to work with one finger at a time.
And that's it! Enjoy your sexy ass set of nails ( ˘ ³˘) ♥
Post application care
Here's a few tips after you've applied your nails:
- Don't use cuticle oil straight away - wait until the next day. Try to remember to apply cuticle oil each day or every other day from then on to help your hands and nails look and feel fresh and hydrated.
- Avoid contact with water for at least 3 hours. If you must use water, opt for cold.
- No matter how your nails are (natural, done at the salon, applied at home, etc) - please avoid using your nails as tools! Too much pressure can lead to damage. Avoid using your nails to push, pull, or pick at things as much as possible.
- Just like our skin or hair, everyone has different nail beds and may experience varying timeframes of adhesion, even if prepped well.
